There are two important ministries in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico
that
are in need of your support.
Each school day, 20+ Kintergarten children receive a hot breakfast, plus 100+ children receive a hot lunch at the El Buen Pastor Church.
The adult and elderly lunch program is held on the South side of Nuevo Progresso in a lunch room built by a team and it serves between 25 and 45 elderly. Each person who attends receives additional cooked and uncooked food to take home.
The lunch programs must close when school is out as the grandmothers bring their children and the little room can't handle the crowd even serving in shifts.
The FUMC-Mercedes, in cooperation with Pine to
Palms, Palm Shadows, La Floresta, and Snow to Sun RV Parks purchase and deliver most of the food items
needed,
with FUMC-Weslaco providing meat once a month.
